RIYADH: The Ministry of Health has celebrated the National Day for Walking, which falls on March 5. The ministry aims to promote public health, increase the number of walkers and help more than 500,000 persons suffering from chronic diseases.
The ministry has announced the launch of a walking challenge on March 10, where participants will set a daily objective, walking no fewer than 8,000 steps. There will be rewards for those who walk the most steps each week.
People are encouraged to download the app “Sehhaty” and register and participate. The ministry said participants should respect social distancing.
